Elder Michael Jackson, Pastor

Elder Michael Jackson was saved during a Men's Day Revival at the 114th Street RCT Church in his mid- twenties.  He became a member of the Church in 1982 under the leadership of Dr. Joseph W. Mayfield.  With a hunger and thirst for more of God, he was filled with the Holy Ghost shortly thereafter.

Pastor Mayfield saw something special in Elder Jackson and encouraged him to become active in the work of the Lord.  Elder Jackson worked faithfully in many areas of the church including: The Young Adult Usher Board, President of the Youth Choir, Man-In-Demand, Youth Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, YPWW President, and an assistant leader in the Youth Church.

Elder Jackson later felt the call into the ministry. With the support and recommendation of Elder Mayfield, he became an Elder in the Church of God in Christ in 1998 and was ordained by Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake.  Elder Jackson is the first ordained preacher in his very large and expansive family.

Pastor Mayfield appointed Elder Jackson as Youth Pastor in 1990, where he served faithfully and enthusiastically for over 27 years.  Elder Jackson was a tremendous blessing to the Youth Ministry and many young people were blessed and saved under his leadership.

After the passing of Elder Joseph Mayfield, Elder Jackson remained faithfully at his post assisting new pastor, Elder Johnnie Smith in unifying and comforting the people of God during this difficult transition period.  He never stopped praising, worshiping, and continuing the work of the Lord at the 114th Street RCT Church.

On May 25, 2017, Elder Jackson was unanimously elected by the membership of the 114th Street RCT  Church and appointed by Presiding Bishop Joe Ealy as Elder-in-Charge of the 114th Street Revival Center Church of God in Christ.  His song of praise is "Look Where He Brought Me From"!

Elder Jackson has been married to Mary Welton-Jackson since 1985.  They have three beautiful children, Michelle, Mike Jr., and Mariah.

Elder Jackson counts it a blessing to carry on the torch of holiness that was instilled in him by his late father Minister Arthur Hunter and Mother Ounita Hunter.

Elder Jackson envisions RCT growing to be a community center. A place where the Watts/Willowbrook neighbors and community members, family, friends, church folk, youth and the wise can come to grow stronger in the Lord, fellowship and worship.
